What is microneedling?

Micro-needling, also called collagen induction therapy, stimulates your body’s natural healing process to improve your skin and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles. Micro-needling stimulates collagen and elastin production by creating an inflammatory response that signals your body to produce more collagen in the dermal layer of your skin. This cosmetic treatment provides a way to resurface your skin without the thermal injury of a laser.

Micro-needling is a painless treatment in which your provider pricks your skin with tiny micro-needles. The small pricks from the needles signal your body’s inflammatory response, prompting your skin to produce the collagen that strengthens, tightens, lifts, heals, and rebuilds your skin.

PRP Facial- Why is it often referred to as a Vampire Facial?

Many people often think of the famous photos of Kim Kardashian with blood all over her face when they think of this treatment. However The term “Vampire” is misleading as no blood is is rubbed on the face, but it is used to create PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma).

PRP is a substance that is created from your own blood and made up of the same healing factors that cause your body to mend its own wounds.

The results are a brighter, healthier and smoother skin for a long time. If you want to maintain your results, you can schedule additional facials once a year. Recommended treatments are three, every 5 weeks to begin with.

How can microneedling improve my skin?

Microneedling treatments can work wonders on your skin. Many patients see a reduction or full elimination of:

  • Acne scars
  • Enlarged pores
  • Sun spots
  • Lines and wrinkles
  • Discoloration
  • Rosacea
  • Hair loss
  • Melasma
  • Pigmentation
  • Brightening
  • Skin Tightening

If you have other skin imperfections or signs of aging that you’d like to target, your provider can decide whether or not micro-needling is your best option for treatment. After one or more micro-needling treatments, you’ll notice that your skin appears younger, smoother, and more even in tone.

Hair Restoration with Micro-Needling

What should I expect?

At treatment time, a numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for about 15 minutes. Then, the actual treatment with a micro-needle pen will be used to gently prick your skin using a topical of a hydrating hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma PRP which many refer to as a “Vampire Facial”.

At the end of your appointment, your provider applies a calming serum to your skin to reduce any irritation or redness.

Some common side effects are red or pinkish color for about 24 hours. Your skin will be sensitive for several days after the treatment, so you should apply sunscreen each time you go outside and avoid direct sunlight for 7-10 days. Some flaking or mild peeling may occur as well.

After a few weeks and often days, you’ll be able to see the full results of your procedure. Depending on your goals, you may need several micro-needling sessions four- five weeks apart to get your ideal results.

At your consultation, be sure to tell your provider about your skin conditions and medications that you’re taking. Then, they decide whether you should proceed with the treatment.

Micro-Needle with PRP Injections

A PRP is made from your own body’s plasma in order to the body to more effectively and efficiently heal and restore collagen. When small injections of PRP are injected in to the skin after micro-needling, the growth factors in the platelets promote healing of the “injured tissue” to restore and enhance the skin regions that needed volume as well as, improve their texture, tone & reduce fine lines & wrinkles.
