Lipodissolve in University Park - Dallas, TX

What is Lipodissolve?

There are several non-surgical alternatives that actually provide real results and can remove fat. The important issue is that patients need to be well informed and understand the advantages and limitations of these various procedures. One such non-surgical alternative to fat removal is “Lipodissolve”.

Lipodissolve is meant to treat areas with a small amount of fat that are not targeted by diet and exercise, such as on “bra fat” area, midsection, love handles, knees, inner thighs, and outer thighs (also known as saddlebags). These microinjections are intended for body contouring and are not a weight loss solution.

Unlike the Alma Accent Prime, there are no skin tightening benefits in the treated areas of the body, and it doesn't address skin laxity that may result.

However it typically takes less treatments than the Accent Prime and results are seen quicker.

Lipodissolve is a the terms given to subcutaneous injection of two substances called phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholate. A recent article in the March issue of the Aesthetic Journal of Surgery goes through the current literature to determine if Lipodissolve really works. The articles authors found that, in fact, lipodissolve does work! They found that lippodissolve is clinically effective at removing moderate amounts of fat in appropriate patients. More importantly, they found that there were no serious adverse effects in the healthy adult women that they reviewed in their study. They found that the ideal candidate for this procedure was a patient who desired treatment of “small areas of excess fat or localized deposits.” The article went on to say that patients, “need to be aware that achieving desired results may take several months.”

Treatment Areas:

  • Saddlebags
  • Inner Thighs
  • Love Handles
  • Abdomen
  • Arms
  • “Bra Fat”

This procedure does not address cellulite and fat deposits like lipomas.

What to Expect During Treatment

The needles used are very fine so as to minimize discomfort. Immediately after the injection the area becomes warm, red and an uncomfortable prickling sensation is experienced. The level of discomfort can range from mild to intense depending on each individual’s response. This ache can last for minutes or a few hours. Swelling begins almost immediately after the treatment and is a normal response. Tenderness, swelling and a general numbness in the area can last a several days. Some bruising can also occur. All of these are normal responses following this procedure. Complicated pre- or post-treatment is unnecessary and the ability to work is not impaired. Clients can return to their daily duties after treatment, without the need of special clothing or apparatus.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments depends on your body’s individual response to the treatment, generally, 2-4 treatments at 6-8 week intervals are ideal. Results are not immediate but are evident after 10 weeks. If you would like multiple areas treated, we recommend treating one area at a time.

Are the Results Permanent?

According to the current state of knowledge, fat cells that have been dissolved do not return. This means that the fat deposits concerned are permanently reduced. Provided your weight remains the same and a positive lifestyle is maintained the results of lipolysis should also remain the same.

Who Is Not A Candidate for Lipodissolve?

  • Those allergic to B group vitamins or soy beans
  • Diabetics
  • Those on warfarin
  • Those with poor liver function
  • Certain auto-immune diseases such as dermatomyositis scleroderma,SLE

How Do I Get Started?

A consultation will determine the cost as it depends on the number and size of areas to be treated.
