Volumizing filler for wrinkle reduction

Radiesse® is a safe, FDA-approved dermal filler that restores a natural, youthful look. It’s a phenomenal product used primarily to treat areas with obvious signs of facial aging. Radiesse is not your regular HA filler that just works to erase wrinkles. Radiesse actually helps your body rebuild your skin’s own collagen and foundation. Its unique contouring ability allows physicians to treat large areas of the face in one procedure. Not only does it build but it also lifts, having the highest G Prime in the filler family.

Radiesse works with your body, below the skin’s surface. It is an injectable filler made of synthetic minerals. A gel carrier delivers the particles and holds them in place. When injected, the gel carrier creates a temporary fill, lasting anywhere from 4-8 months. The calcium left behind creates a structure for your own tissue to build around for a lonter lasting result.

For facial contouring, Radiesse can be used for smoothing and contouring smile lines or nasolabial folds, acne scarring, cheek, chin or jawline augmentation, arm and knee laxity., and for volume & lift in a “Liquid Buff Lift”. Radiesse can also be used on the hands to decrease the signs of aging.

Radiesse allows you to resume your daily activities immediately. You may experience some mild swelling , bruising, soreness, or redness at the injection site that typically last no longer than a few days.

The Restylane Family of Dermal Fillers

Restylane® is an innovative dermal filler, designed to plump facial tissues and restore a youthful appearance. Restylane was the first dermal filler on the U.S. market to be made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a natural component of healthy human tissues. As an important structural building block in the skin, HA is responsible for ramping up the body’s collagen production. The HA also naturally draws in water from the body, plumping tissues for long-term benefits. A Restylane treatment provides immediate volumizing to the tissues, and while the body’s collagen stores are being rebuilt, the benefits from treatment can last for months. This unique family of dermal fillers includes Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Refyne, and Defyne; each is purposefully designed to treat specific areas of the face.

• Restylane – for facial wrinkles and folds
• Restylane Silk – for lips and the vertical lines around them
• Restylane Defyne – for deeper smile and laugh lines
• Restylane Refyne – for lip fullness, and moderate
• Restylane Lyft – for cheeks and back of hands

Restylane Lyft
Restylane® Lyft is approved by the FDA for cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related midface contour deficiencies in patients. This is in addition to treating moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines).

Over time, the natural fat that surrounds the cheeks begins to deteriorate, resulting in sagging skin, more prominent wrinkles and a reduction of volume. Restylane Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L®, is an injectable hyaluronic acid gel used to correct volume loss and treat wrinkles in the face. Through nonsurgical injections, Restylane Lyft is specifically designed to add fullness to the cheeks and midface area, which can result in a more natural-looking, youthful appearance.

Restylane Lyft is the first FDA-approved filler indicated to provide lift to cheeks and add volume to correct and smooth smile lines (nasolabial folds).

As with any hyaluronic acid treatment, the most common side effects were bruising, redness, swelling, pain, headache, tenderness and itching. These events decreased in severity over time, and most were resolved after two weeks. This procedure is reversible, if so desired, simply with the injection of a dissolving enzyme.

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

Treatment can only be administered by a KYBELLA®-trained healthcare specialist. At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat you have under your chin and your desired profile.

Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Your healthcare specialist will help determine how many treatment sessions you need based on the amount and distribution of your submental fat and your personal treatment goals. Each KYBELLA® treatment session is given at least 1 month apart, and many patients will need multiple treatments.

After KYBELLA® treatment, you will likely have some swelling, bruising, or numbness under your chin with peak swelling at 24 hours after treatment. This will start to dissipate over the next couple weeks.

KYBELLA® can cause serious side effects, including nerve injury in the jaw that can temporarily cause an uneven smile or facial muscle weakness and trouble swallowing.

The most common side effects occur in the treatment area and include:
• Swelling * Bruising
• Redness * Numbness
• Pain * Areas of Hardness

Side effects are usually temporary and often resolve on their own. Not likely but more serious side effects can include nerve injury in the jaw or trouble swallowing. Generally both injuries resolve on their own. Be sure to inform your healthcare professional if you develop an uneven smile, facial muscle weakness, or difficulty swallowing.

“BraBella” Kybella used to treat Bra Fat

Many who are looking for a non-surgical, effective procedure to ELIMINATE fat cells from the back of the bra area or armpit, may want to consider an injectable called Kybella. It’s a new FDA approved deoxycollic acid and when injected into fatty tissue, a chemical reaction occurs which dissolves the fat.

Brabella is Kybella injected into the “Bra-Fat” at the upper edge of the breast and upper arm. The Brabella procedure reduces the fat pocket that is bothersome to women.

Most patients require 2-3 treatments, spaced 6-12 weeks apart, so it can take some time to see a result. At Body Lounge we follow up the final treatment with a radiofrequency treatment with our Accent Prime for additional lift and tightening of the skin.

Patients should expect tenderness and swelling for 1-2 weeks and will see the fat disappear gradually in the weeks to follow with maximum results at about 6 months.

While consultations are required for all Kybella and BraBella treatments, we have found most patients require at least 2 vials for their first treatment of BraBella. Some patients only need one treatment, but others may need 2-3 additional treatments. It all depends on the amount of submental fat in the area.

PRP Skin/Facial Rejuvenation
(Platelet-Rich Plasma)

Platelet Rich Plasma is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. PRP contains several growth factors and other cytokines that stimulate healing of bone and soft tissue. PRP Injections can be administered in areas of skin damage or lines & wrinkles. PRP injections may also be used in combination with other treatments like micro-needling and Pixel RF treatments.

Juvéderm Family of Fillers

Juvéderm® Injectable Gel is the “next generation” of dermal fillers. Created by Allergan – the manufacturer of Botox®, Juvéderm® provides a smooth, long-lasting correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. Dermal fillers are used to restore volume and fullness to the skin, giving a healthy, youthful appearance.

New! The FDA has recently approved Juvéderm® Ultra XC for injection into the lips and perioral area for lip augmentation with results lasting up to one year

How Does It Work?
Juvéderm® filler is an FDA-approved smooth-consistency gel capable of restoring volume to the skin while smoothing away moderate-to-severe facial wrinkles and folds. This filler is made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the skin that adds volume and hydration. But unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers, which usually have granular consistencies, Juvéderm® injectable gel is the first smooth-consistency HA gel that is easily injected into the skin and produces immediate, natural-looking results. An innovative manufacturing process called Hylacross™ , gives Juvéderm® its unique smooth-gel properties as well as an optimal gel structure that holds up over time. Juvéderm® is the only HA filler that’s FDA approved to last up to 1 year.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Juvéderm?
As you age, the lines that form around your nose and mouth become more noticeable. Juvéderm® is most commonly used to correct these different types of facial lines, including “parentheses lines” (nasolabial folds), smile lines, vertical lip lines, and marionette lines (lines formed near the chin). It can also help to define the lip border and give the appearance of a fuller lip.

Different Types Of Juvéderm

There are multiple products within the Juvéderm® family that are designed for different uses:
Juvéderm® Ultra: The original Juvéderm® formula, Ultra is ideal for treating moderate lines and wrinkles, provides limited contouring and scar correction, and moderate lip enhancement. Results typically can last up to 9 months.

Juvéderm® Voluma: The first and only hyaluronic acid (HA) based dermal filler approved by the FDA to instantly increase the volume of the cheeks. Results last up to 2 years with fill correction.

Juvéderm® Volbella: A hyaluronic acid gel-based filler that uses patented Vycross technology to smooth lip lines and other fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Results last up to 12 months after treatment.

Juvéderm® Vollure: Juvéderm’s newest filler designed to correct the most severe folds and wrinkles including the nasolabial folds. Results of Vollure can last up to 18 months.

Juvéderm Voluma XC

Wrinkles and lines aren’t the only signs of aging. Over time, the cheeks flatten, and the skin may begin to sag. This is caused by a natural loss of volume in the cheek area, or what the experts call age-related midface volume loss. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is the first and only hyaluronic acid (HA), based dermal filler approved by the FDA to instantly increase the volume of the mid-face/cheek area. It provides a subtle, enhancement to the mid-face that can last up to two years. Voluma® consists of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a substance found naturally within the skin.

How Does It Work?
Voluma® creates a noticeably smoother appearance to the skin; provides lift and more definition to the facial structure. It can be used in:
• Smoothing moderate lines around the eyes
• Smoothing wrinkles around the nose and mouth
• Restoring volume to cheeks

Virtually anyone with volume loss in their midface is a candidate for treatment with Voluma®, as well as individuals with poorly defined cheekbones. It is affordable and non-invasive for both men and women alike. It is intended for patients looking to achieve mid-face volume, or more prominent, sculpted cheek bones.

The most common side effects are mild and include irritation, swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection site. This procedure is reversible, if so desired, simply with the injection of a dissolving enzyme. The effects of Voluma® typically last for approximately 9 months to a year from the date of treatment with some patients even enjoying and experiencing the effects for up to 2 years with optimum correction.
