Dr. Ed Le Cara, DC, PhD, / Co-Owner
Board Certified in Medical Acupuncture, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine
Dr. Ed, a former Army Combat Medic, has worked as a strength and conditioning coach, athletic trainer, and chiropractor for over 20 years. He has extensive clinical and field experience in rehabilitation and therapy. As a former collegiate athlete, Ed understands the importance of functional movement and performance a variety levels. He works with numerous collegiate and professional sports teams and has a strong impact on athletes (competitive and non/competitive) of all ages & levels. His extensive knowledge and experience in pre & post surgical rehabilitation, injury & injury prevention, and basic aches & pains that hinder every day life has given him an advantage to understanding his patients' goals and needs.
In addition to his practice at the Body Lounge, Ed lectures domestically and internationally on movement assessment and soft tissue treatment/rehabilitation. He currently acts as Director of Education for Smart Tools Plus and holds a PhD in Athletic Training. He has also served on several medical advisory boards.

Dr. Katina Thornton, MD
Board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
Dr. Thornton graduated summa cum laude from Texas Christian University, while active in her sorority Chi Omega. She completed her medical education at UT Southwestern Medical School. Following a transitional internship at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, she accompanied her husband of 26 years to Marine Corps Base Kaneohe in Kailua, Hawaii. There she completed additional medical training at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu. She attended a year of law school at the University of Hawaii, making Law Review, before returning to Dallas to complete her residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern. Her husband James is a board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at UT Southwestern. They have six children. Currently, one is in medical school, two are in college, and three are enrolled at HPISD. Dr. Thornton is passionate about nutrition, a subject minimally glossed over in medical school. She is extremely active in CrossFIt Health, a global movement to bring functional movement and good nutrition to even the most self-described non-athletes. In addition to her duties at Body Lounge Park Cities, she administers anesthesia for orthopedic sports injuries and orthopedic spine surgeries at Baylor Trophy Club and anesthesia for Mohs reconstruction at Baylor Denton Surgicare. She believes that a healthy diet is the foundation for good health and is eager to help people change their eating habits for life. She views weight loss through healthful eating as our best hedge against many chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes, gastroesophageal reflux disease, cancer, alzheimer’s disease, thyroid dysfunction, and joint inflammation.
Lynda “Leigh” Patten, RN, NP
Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Certified and Trained in Cosmetic Injectables by National Laser Institute.
Leigh has worked as an NNP since 2007. Before that She was a RN in the NICU for 3 years.
Specifically, Leigh has worked in 5 different hospitals over the last 11 years ranging from level II community hospitals to level IV acute care facilities including Childrens Hospital of Boston and Childrens Medical Center in Dallas. She is currently employed by the later. She also works concurrently as an NNP at UT Southwestern Clements University Hospital and a ground and flight transport NNP for Childrens Transport.
She has three children, Carter (9), Ashley (7), and Campbell (5) and wonderful husband, Ross, of 12 years. Originally born in Denver, CO. She moved to Connecticut when she was 9 and then to Dallas when She was 11. Her family has lived in Dallas since 1991 including her parents, older brother and younger sister. She graduated from Highland Park high school in 1998
Leigh graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt in 2002. She went directly into the RN/MAsters of the Science of Nursing (MSN) program at Vanderbilt School of Nursing where she graduated Cum Laude in 2004.
Leigh’s passion is newborn and pediatric care. However, with her father’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment, Leigh felt ill equipped to answer her families questions and concerns about not only the cancer but other health questions for mature patients. Additionally, as her children are growing and out the newborn/toddler stage she has felt a desire to learn and gain expertise and understanding of health concerns relates to other patients along with cosmetic procedures. She was recently accepted to the University of Texas at Arlington Family Nurse Practitioner program which will equip her with medical knowldge and scope of practice across the lifespan.
Copper Dallas, Co-Owner/ Clinic Director
Copper is a five- year University Park mother, resident and citizen. She re-located to Dallas after 12 years in Los Angeles where she worked as Vice-President of Marketing & Sales for the Lyons Group Venues.
She has always had a love, active interest and participation in Health, Wellness & Nutrition. After her youngest began Kindergarten, she was able to make her dream of having her own Boutique Wellness Clinic a reality.
She knew with the best and most knowledgeable Clinicians who shared the same philosophies she could create something really special that would help people feel and be better.
She approached Dr. Ed in to re-locating and partnering with her which he enthusiastically agreed to. They together then went directly to Dr. Katina & Leigh to share the vision, which both understood, believed and jumped on board. And this became the Body Lounge team!
Copper has two children, Hudson (9) and Hazel (7). Originally born in Georgia (where she attended the University of Georgia), and then moved to Los Angeles initially working for Quincy Jones in Music Publishing. She moved to University in 2012 where she and her children still currently live. She has a great deal of passion for people and their mental & physical well-being. You will always be greeted warmly and sincerely by her and treated the way she feels, that everyone matters and deserves the best quality of life they can have.
