Ed Le Cara, DC, PhD
Ed Le Cara, DC, PhD, is Board-Certified Sports Medicine Specialist, Acupuncturist, Chiropractor, and Certified Medical Aesthetics Injector, at Body Lounge Park Cities in Dallas’s Park Cities neighborhood. With over 20 years of experience, he’s rehabilitated athletes and other patients to help them achieve minimal pain and maximum mobility. He is a former army combat medic and has worked alongside athletes, having been a college athlete himself.
Dr. Le Cara began his extensive education at the University of California, Davis, in Davis, California. He earned his degree in exercise science while acting as captain of the wrestling division and completing a strength and conditioning internship with the women’s basketball team. After graduating in 1995, he moved to San Jose, California, to earn his chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic West. In 2007, he went back to school to complete his doctorate in athletic training at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, Utah. He also earned his MBA in transglobal education at St. Mary’s College of California in Moraga, California, in 2015.
As a former athlete, Dr. Le Cara understands athletic injuries and functional movement firsthand. At Body Lounge Park Cities, he helps prepare athletic patients for surgery and assists in their recovery. He also treats patients’ injuries and helps prevent them in the future. Over the past two years he has advanced is education and trainings in Medical Aesthetics & Body Contouring Treatments.
Dr. Le Cara is passionate about his work and loves to see his patients happy and living well. In addition to owning and operating Body Lounge Park Cities and treating patients there, he lectures about movement assessment and rehabilitation domestically and internationally. He also shares his expertise on multiple medical advisory boards.
Copper Dallas, Co-Owner/ Clinic Director
Copper is a resident and citizen of University Park. Her passion in Health, Wellness & Nutrition allows her to stay active with the goals of her community. After her youngest began Kindergarten, her dream of having her very own Boutique Wellness Clinic became a reality. She works with some of the most knowledgeable Clinicians, who shared the same philosophies, could create a special and unique approach to help people feel and be better.
She approached Dr. Ed with a vision and introduced a partnership to re-locate her dream business to a beautiful and growing community as she re-located to Dallas from Los Angeles, CA. Together, with aligned goals and a lot of hard work they created Body Lounge Park Cities. Copper manages the operations, sales & marketing for the clinic while keeping patients her number one priority. With an absolute sincere & deep level of care for others, her creative eye and in-depth business acumen, you can expect the utmost level of service at Body Lounge.
Copper is also a licensed and trained aesthetics technician trained in many modalities including Lasers, Body Contouring, IV Therapy, BioTe Hormone Therapy, PRP Hair Restoration, Plasma Fibroblast, Radio-frequency, IPL, and other modalities that benefit patients. She holds a professional license in laser hair removal.
Copper has two children, Hudson (12) and Hazel (10), both originally born in California. She moved to University Park in 2012 where she and her children currently reside. She has a great deal of passion and respect for others whether it’s their mental & physical well-being or just being that person to make someone’s day a little better.
Expect to be greeted with a warm “hello” by Copper. She is someone who can’t help but want to put a smile on your face every time she sees you.
Katina Thornton, MD
Board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.
Dr. Thornton graduated summa cum laude from Texas Christian University, while active in her sorority Chi Omega. She completed her medical education at UT Southwestern Medical School. Following a transitional internship at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, she accompanied her husband of 26 years to Marine Corps Base Kaneohe in Kailua, Hawaii. There she completed additional medical training at the John A. Burns School of Medicine in Honolulu. She attended a year of law school at the University of Hawaii, making Law Review, before returning to Dallas to complete her residency in Anesthesiology and Pain Management at UT Southwestern. Her husband James is a board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at UT Southwestern. They have six children. Currently, one is in medical school, two are in college, and three are enrolled at HPISD. Dr. Thornton is passionate about nutrition, a subject minimally glossed over in medical school. She is extremely active in CrossFIt Health, a global movement to bring functional movement and good nutrition to even the most self-described non-athletes. In addition to her duties at Body Lounge Park Cities, she administers anesthesia for orthopedic sports injuries and orthopedic spine surgeries at Baylor Trophy Club and anesthesia for Mohs reconstruction at Baylor Denton Surgicare. She believes that a healthy diet is the foundation for good health and is eager to help people change their eating habits for life. She views weight loss through healthful eating as our best hedge against many chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes, gastroesophageal reflux disease, cancer, alzheimer’s disease, thyroid dysfunction, and joint inflammation.
Jordan Garrett, RN, Nurse Injector
We are happy to have our Nurse Injector, Jordan Garrett at Body Lounge. Jordan graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, TX, where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing; she is currently in pursuit of her Nurse Practitioner license where she will continue with her interest in anti-aging, while introducing a more regenerative medicine component to her repertoire. She has been interested in the medical aesthetic industry for several years now and firmly believes in the ability to defy the aging process, while maintaining and building upon one, current beauty.
Jordan obtained her nursing degree for the purpose of becoming an Aesthetic Nurse Injector, given she is passionate about the field and has been using a variety of products and treatments on herself since she was in her mid-twenties. Jordan has been officially trained by Allergan, Galderma, Merz, Regen, Harvest, Prollenium, Asclera and Revive PRP distributors; she retains a multitude of certifications within the aesthetic industry in Advanced Neuromodulators, Dermal Fillers, Deoxycholic Acid, PRP Facelifts, PRP Facials, PRP Hair Restoration, PRP Vaginal Rejuvenation, Medical Grade Microneedling, Medical Grade Chemical Peels, Plasma Fibroblasting, along with Sclerotherapy.
Over the course of the last four years, Jordan has worked for renown medical spas and plastic surgeons in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex as a nurse injector. She dynamically believes in the integrity and effectiveness of an array of aesthetic injectables and wants to assist clients in achieving subtle, but noticeable changes that allow them to enhance their existing beauty. In addition, Jordan is committed to receiving continued education within the aesthetic industry by routinely attending trainings, conferences and conventions within the cosmetic medical realm, along with authoring articles for the Aesthetic Journal in the United Kingdom on the most recent trends within the industry.
Drew Paulsen RN, BSN
Drew graduated from Nebraska Methodist College with his Bachelors of Science in Nursing, spending his early career working in a Progressive Care Unit until fulfilling his passion of Aesthetic Medicine, receiving training from the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale Az.
He enjoys educating clients on aesthetic medicine and explaining the beat services and products to help them achieve optimal results. He loves the ability to customize the experience to each client’s specific aesthetic needs & goals.
Drew is passionate about all things aesthetics including lasers, body contouring, skin tightening, injectables, and exceptional skin care to achieve optimal results for his clients.
In his downtime, Drew enjoys trying new restaurants, interior design, walking the Katy Trail, and listening to podcasts.
