Dallas, TX- MicroneedlingA PRP Microneedling treatment uses the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) in your own body to help encourage skin growth and healing, a process similar to microneedling. Many people have heard the term “Vampire Facial”. You know the one that Kim Kardashian posted on social media with blood all over her face? It’s a similar treatment but without the scary “Vampire” term in it. Disclosure: There are no actual Vampires involved in the treatment.
Just to be clear, drawn blood IS NOT rubbed all over your face. The PRP (good growth factors) are used during the microneedle treatment to enhance your results and skin healing. The blood actually comes from the treatment itself. When you created a controlled puncture on the skin, this naturally occurs and is typically quite mild.
But before you sign up for either of these PRP facials, it’s important to understand the difference and find the right facial for you.
So how does the PRP Microneedle Facial differ from a standard Microneedling Facial?

Unlike microneedling, which uses a special serum, you’re getting your own PRP absorbed into your face, minus Platelet-Poor Plasma (PPP). In short, we use your own cells to help promote new tissue growth and healthy skin, treating different skin conditions like:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Rosacea
- Collagen and volume loss
- Crow’s feet
- Dark under-eye circles
- Large pores
- Roughly textured skin
- Uneven skin tone
- Acne scarring
- Melasma
The PRP in your own body is not something that can be re-created in any cosmetic product because they’re cells that are unique to you, giving a cleaner version of cells that already help your skin grow and heal.

what to expect
Before your treatment begins, your face and neck will be numbed. Then your blood will be drawn from your arm. This blood will be sent through a centrifuge that separates your PRP from your PPP.
This PRP is then pushed into the skin during your microneedle treatment. Oftentimes injections are done as well especially if there are acne scars or areas or more wrinkling. Once your facial is finished, your face is coated in a “plasma mask.” This “mask” can be rinsed off between 20 minutes and 24 hours post-treatment. You will also be sent home with the Growth Factor serum — used in a microneedling treatment — to give your skin added hydration and healing benefits.’
While re-injecting your own blood into your face might sound like something out of a horror story, it actually gives your skin the PRP necessary to renew itself. If you’re looking for the best treatment for most all skin problems, nothing is better than your own body.
time: 75–90 minutes
post-procedure: your skin may feel tight and tender and look red. some people peel or flake 3-5 days post-treatment as new, healthy skin cells develop.

Our SkinPen Microneedling is FDA approved for Collagen Induction Therapy. It involves less blood than your PRP facial. With this treatment, your face will still be numbed as small needles will be injected into your skin. The micro-needles help shock your collagen, bringing it back to life.
what to expect:
Since you’re not using PRP, a special serum will be used to inject under your skin. The serum that is chosen will depend on what your skin needs — like vitamin C, vitamin A, Hyaluronic Acid, or Growth Factor.
Tiny Micro-Needles are then used to penetrate the dermis of your skin, injecting the serum and triggering your collagen. About nine different needles are used around your face and neck. You may find that your forehead and the bridge of your nose are the most sensitive, but the micro-needles should feel like small vibrations as the serum is injected.
time: 45 minutes
post-procedure: your forehead and nose may feel tender while your face will be a pinkish red. there may be some flaking or peeling 3-5 days post-treatment.
results: for the most optimal results, get a series of three treatments every two to three weeks at our medical spa.
